One month passed since the Naples Late Spring GReTA Interactive Course. Excellent scientific contents, friendly interaction between senior experts and young attendees and great social program stimulating networking! Very positive feedbacks and high satisfaction levels from the participants boosted our energies for next G.Re.T.A. projects! Now we are ready for the MBN 2019 Oncoplastic Breast Meeting that will be held next December in Milan, with the Consensus Conference on Oncoplastic Breast Conserving Surgery developed in cooperation with the Italian Cochrane Group. I’m glad to share with you the letter of my colleague Emanuela Esposito MD: Dear Colleagues, happy to meet you again! Last year G.R.E.T.A. meeting in Sicily has been amazing! We enjoyed with great food and breathtaking landscapes! We had the opportunity to discuss open issues on breast cancer, present tricky cases and learn how to deal with breast reconstruction. I cannot wait to take part to the next event in Naples, the city I love most, the city I was born in, the city

I’m glad to share with you the letter of my colleague Pedro Ferreira MD: Soon, attending a three-month fellowship in 2007 in a European Centre of reference – the Senology Department of the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori di Milano, I realized my passion for breast surgery. Since then, I dedicated myself to help to develop Setúbal’s Hospital Breast Unit, inserted in a very enthusiastic and competent group that aims to improve the quality of the services rendered to the population and to

I’m glad to share with you the letter of my colleague Giacomo Montagna MD: Dear all I would like to start this short post by introducing myself. My name is Giacomo Montagna and I am Swiss breast surgeon. In 2011 I started my residency in Ob-Gyn in Lugano, Ticino, where I had the chance to meet and work with Prof. Olivia Pagani. My interest in the care of breast cancer (BC) patients and oncoplastic surgery began very quickly. In 2016, in order

The hands of the surgeon on breast cancer medical treatment. Naples, 18/19 May 2019. G.Re.T.A. aims to disseminate evidence-based knowledge and create networks among specialists in the management of breast cancer. I’m glad to share with you the letter of my colleague Rosa Di Micco MD: Dear friends, it is a great pleasure for me to be involved into the second edition of GRETA late spring course. Last year in Giarre the course was such an interesting experience that I would like to suggest to all of my colleagues to join us in Naples. The course is very far from being an “academic” lesson or lecture, it is much more interactive then

G.Re.T.A. is happy to support two young breast surgeons (<40 years old) for a two-days masterclass (Milan, April 2019) on GRADE basics. GRADE is a sensible and transparent methodology to assess the quality of evidence in systematic reviews, guidelines and other syntheses. The course will be led by two skilled researchers from the Mario Negri Pharmacological Research Institute in Milan in partnership with the Cochrane Italian Network and G.Re.T.A.. The selected trainees will be involved in future research projects in cooperation with G.Re.T.A.

I am honoured to invite you to the next G.Re.T.A. Interactive Course “The Hands of the Surgeon on Breast Cancer medical treatment” that will be held in Naples 18th-19th May 2019. Following the tradition of G.RE.T.A. events, we will aim to an active interaction in a friendly setting between International experts and the attendees, this year offering a training for senior surgical trainees on basic skills of medical treatment. In pursuing our goal, our scientific director, Nicola Rocco, together with our Honorary Chairman, Maurizio Nava, has been proud to be part of the outstanding faculty of the Buenos Aires Breast Meeting 2018, organized by Alberto Rancati, Eduardo Gonzalez and Claudio Angrigiani. Obtaining high level evidences in surgery is difficult due to the challenges in conducting surgical randomized controlled trials and to surgeons’ general reluctance to embrace trial methodology. This is why we often base our decision-making on personal preferences, without having
