My role in MBN2017 Oncoplastic Breast Surgery
Evidences behind Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery are not so strong, most deriving from retrospective studies or, in the best case, from non randomized prospective trials. My main role in the MBN 2017 Oncoplastic Breast Meeting will be to highlight the level of the evidence behind each discussed topic, trying to underline the need of Randomized Controlled Trials and Level I Evidences in Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery.
I am also organizing the Consensus Conference on a really debated issue among Breast Surgeons, Radiotherapists and Medical Oncologists, that is “Radiotherapy and Breast Reconstruction”, starting from a systematic review of the available literature on this topic to be meshed together with the experience of Key Opinion Leaders in Breast Cancer Treatment coming from all over the world.

MBN2017 Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Education and research are the main purposes of our team even during the next MBN 2017 conference. This year I will be chairing the session about the International Fellowship in memory of Mr Querci della Rovere, my first mentor. I will also coordinate a simulated multidisciplinary breast meeting during which junior doctors will discuss complex clinical cases with senior consultants from two international institutions.
